This 13 year old single cask whisky from Benrinnes was distilled on 7th September 2005 and finished for 11 months in a Bual Madeira cask before being bottled in 2019 at natural cask strength.

Bual is a medium sweet style of Madeira wine which is not quite as sweet as Malmsey variety. Casks like these were traditionally used to transport Madeira to many destinations and were commonly used in the early days of Scotch whisky. According to surviving ledgers, James Eadie himself was known to mature whisky in similar casks over 100 years ago.
