Distilled on August 27th 2010 and bottled on January 6th 2016 but you couldn't guess it was so young. Smogen is basically the work of one man, Par Caldenby, and this guy is starting to impress us with his skills. This example is fully matured in a fresh Bordeaux barrique cask producing a total out-turn of 424 bottles.

Tasting Notes

Staff Tasting Notes
Nose: Surprisingly floral which is followed up with a sweet BBQ glaze. There is a dark fruitiness to it as well which combines with the other aromas to create a feel of a slightly burnt cherry pie.
Palate: The flavours are very much what you get on the nose. A very well made whisky that reminds us a little of Port Charlotte. The red fruits and smoke come through at the end as the dram evolves.
Finish: Long, woody & smoky.
Comment: A very well made whisky that defies its young age.
