Billy Walker's reputation for distillery takeovers has become the stuff of legend, and his new venture has already started to create a huge buzz. The first release of Glenallachie under his consortium's stewardship is a series of single casks which have been selected to mark the distilleries 50th anniversary. This is the oldest of those, which was first distilled in 1978 and matured in a sole sherry butt for nearly 40 years.
