After success of previous releases by James Eadie we are very excited to try another Caol Ila.

This release is 9 years old and bottled from a small batch of 3 refill bourbon hogsheads. Caol Ila is one of our favourite distilleries and has always been interesting to try in independent bottlers. The younger versions have commonly had an exciting wilder peat driven character.

Tasting Notes

Staff Tasting Notes
Nose: Some peat, oiliness and a waft of vanilla with cream gravy and charcoal. Like a big oyster on a copper spoon, seaweed covered rocks and salty air.
Palate: Sweet, delicate and friendly. Vanilla and yellow skin apples with subtle pepper and earthy BBQ.
Finish: A long finish, ashy and more medicine with time but an almost sponge cake element lingers as the peat dissipates.
