Invergordon whisky is a grain whisky hailing from the eastern part of the highlands. Its unique use of corn and wheat instead of traditional barley requires column-like pots similar to large buildings for the distilling process.
Though made from grains, it is still considered a scotch whisky and is a favourite among enthusiasts at Royal Mile Whiskies.
Vibrant sweet and fruity notes with hints of nutty spice make these bottles delicious whisky gifts for any whisky expert or novice.
Unique highland whisky
The Invergordon distillery began in 1960 and, since then, has grown from one column to four, with a capacity of 40,000,000 litres per year.
Though a young distillery, Invergordon offers some of the rarest independent bottlings, with only one 10-year-old single grain official bottling that is the only one of its kind in the highlands today. Most of the whisky is used for blended batches from Whyte and Mackay.

Invergordon 1997 26-Year-Old #82 HHD Single Cask Nation - A cask-strength single grain bottle that is both zippy and smooth, this cask uses Bourbon barrels and boasts a hefty 53.4% ABV.
This dram holds a saccharine flavour of toasted vanilla beans, sugared pie crust, syrupy pecans and a bite of cracked peppercorn. It’s alluring, charming, and has a gentle kick to keep any whisky lover on their toes.
Invergordon 1990 34-Year-Old Thompson Bros - This 34-year-old Invergordon bottle is one of only 120. It was specially bottled in Dornoch by the Thompson Bros and is one of the most rare and special offerings from the Invergordon distillery.
A strong scent of spiced apple cobbler with a custard creme opens the palate to strong pomme fruits, breadiness, and poached pears cut with citrus. It’s a richly smooth and fruity flavour that leaves a soft and comforting mouthfeel.
