House Targaryen, the great Valyrian family, once conquered the Seven Kingdoms using their legendary dragons and ruled over the Westeros until they were finally overthrown by Robert Baratheon's rebellion. Daenerys Targaryen's quest to reclaim the Iron Throne is one of the main story lines throughout the series- she is also known as The Mother of Dragons.

The Speyside distillery Cardhu is proud to be the first Scottish distillery to be officially pioneered by a woman. Founded in 1824 by John and Helen Cumming, then later run by Helen and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth, Cardhu has become a favourite whisky for blenders since the late 19th century. Although there is no evidence to suggest that either Helen or Elizabeth raised dragons babies they deserve to be put next to the great whitehaired queen Daenerys.

This bottle is one of eight whiskies in the limited-edition Game of Thrones collection released by Diageo in cooperation with HBO as a celebration of the eighth and final season of the world famous TV series.
