A curious single cask rum from Rare Find. This is 25 year old release of Bellevue 1998 , a fascinating rum treasure featuring in independent bottling circles across the world. It is thought to have been column distilled at Damoiseau distillery in Guadeloupe (on the Bellevue au Moule estate) from a batch of molasses (not typical of Damoiseau) and shipped to the UK in the late 2000s. We loved Gleann Mor's previous release at 21 years old and think this has gained more refined spice, menthol and caramel characters with further ageing. One for fans of the herbally Vendome pot still style rums from St Lucia Distillers.

Tasting Notes

Staff Tasting Notes Nose: Long dried fruits, cherries and aniseed, cinnamon and nutmeg. A hint of menthol after a while. Palate: Chewy texture filled with pimento spice, blackberries, sweet pasty and oak. Finish: Sweet ginger, dark chocolate, coffee grounds and old leathery tobacco - 'Vendome vibes'.
