Heaven hill distillery was founded by the 5 Shapira brothers in 1935, shortly after the repeal of the prohibition act. They have come on leaps and bounds since then, as it is now America's largest independent, family owned premium spirits producer.
The distillery is currently headed up by Andy Shapira, the third generation of the Shapira line to control the distillery, along with his sister Kate Latts and her husband Allan Latts.
Heaven Hill's distillery is located in Bernheim and run by 6th generation Master Distiller Parker Beam, and his son Craig. If the name rings a bell, there's a reason; Parker is the great nephew of Jim Beam, also famed for their quality bourbon brand.
Together the Shapiras and the Beams are responsible for maintaining the quality of the many famous brands produced at Heaven Hill (Evan Williams, Old Fitzgerald, Rittenhous and Pikesville).
