Staff Tasting Notes
Nose: Big, thick and rich with an abundance of depth and style. A wash of honey and mead sweeps across a big sherry influence. That famed 'meaty' note comes through in abundance. Hazelnuts, walnut oil and raisins; dusty, dry earth and milk choc shavings. Water brings the earthiness out more and combines it with the walnut and hazelnuts.
Palate: Sweet but powerful. Dry and bitter sherry influence on the palate. Sulphur, old leather and fresh grass cuttings. Water really smooths this beast out on the tongue. There is still a load of sherry influence but the fruit notes get a bit more taste bud time.
Comments: Really delicious stuff and the perfect dram for anyone who says they love a big, fat 'sherry bomb'.
