Famed merchant Berry Brothers and Rudd had noted that their offices in St James had a diplomatic link to the Lone Star state as it attempted to retain independence from the United States. This alliance has been resurrected as Berry Brothers contacted Texan distilleries (there are 8 distillers there now) to request samples. Their nose Doug Mcgivor was blown away by the quality at Iron Root Distillery and has blended various mashbills in this small batch bottling. They use a heritage varietal purple corn, matured in new European oak to create a distinct fruitiness and earthy spice to the spirit. Impressive.
