- Product Information
Producer Pernod Ricard Age 21 Year Old Bottle Size 70cl Alc. Volume 46% Bottler Official
DescriptionCreated at Midleton, the Redbreast is a single pot-still whiskey, meaning it is made from a combination of malted and unmalted barley to create a richer palate on the finished product. The spirit is triple distilled, with the cut of each distillation being chosen to give a heavier and fruitier profile. It is matured for 21 years on a combination of ex-bourbon casks and first fill Oloroso sherry casks for a deep and complex whisky, with plenty of fruit character and spices.
- Tasting Notes
Staff Tasting Notes
Nose: An immediate spiciness, lots of cinnamon and clove character. There is also a soft fruitiness typical of Redbreast’s sherried style. Palate: Wow! A massive burst of nectarines and peaches. Some apple comes along with that spice detected on the nose. Full bodied and complex. Finish: The stone fruits carry through into the lengthy finish. Comments: An excellent rich and well crafted whisky from Midleton, the high standard for which older pot still whiskies should aim.
