North British 1996 Sovereign Hunter Laing
Being based in the bonny city of Edinburgh, we're always delighted to see a bottling of the locally made grain whisky. This 1996 vintage has been matured and bottled by Hunter Laing, who have (of course) bottled this beauty at natural cask strength.
Official Tasting Notes
The pale golden whisky has an enchanting nose of creamy toffee, vanilla, caramel and the sweetest of oaks. Soft and gentle on the palate even at cask strength, with notes of Demerara sugar, honeycomb and even coconut coming through. A long, lingering finish of vanilla and marzipan rounded off with a dab of drying oak.
