Glen Mhor 1982 29 Year Old Signatory Cask Strength 51% 70cl
Glen Mhor 1982 29 Year Old Signatory Cask Strength
Glen Mhor was one of 3 distilleries in Inverness, the other two being Glen Albyn and Millburn. Unfortunately, all three were closed during the Scotch whisky downturn in the 1980's. Glen Mhor tends to have a fruity, oily palate.
Staff Tasting Notes
Nose: Fruit cake and synthetic leather, coconut, caster sugar with a demerara richness, baking soda. Quite a light, hard to pin down nose. With a dash of water, it becomes clearer, bringing out more sugar sweetness and a strong hint of lemon meringue and lemon zest.
Palate: Corr! A very intense sugar water feel on the palate, this lasts for a few seconds and changes to a hot, spicy dram with cloves, gherkins, cucumber with a dry and leathery note. The finish has dark fruits, leather and more cucumber. A bizarre, intriguing dram.
