Dupont Calvados 17 Year Old Pays d'Auge Calvados

Double distilled in copper pot stills and aged for a minimum of 17 years, which gives it extra complexity. The original apple mix was 30% sweet apples, 30% bitter and 40% high acidity, to create the correct balance.

Nose: Vanilla spicy notes, baked apple and dried apricot.


Palate: Caramel apple, zesty citrus notes, richness and creamy notes.

The Boulard Grand Solange is a blend of Calvados varieties from the Pays d'Auge, which vary in age from 3 to 5 years old.
Continuing their Micro-Provenance series, this was matured in ex Bourbon casks, before being finished in Calvados casks, which is pretty unusual (not many Calvados casks in the whisky industry).
This Calvados is quite different from the others in the Christian Drouin range, in that it is from the Calvados Domfrontais region.
Matured for 2 years in French oak casks, this is a fresher, younger, more sprightly Calvados than some its older brothers.
