Braes of Glenlivet
Braes of Glenlivet 1994 Berry Brothers 53.1% 70cl
Braes of Glenlivet 1994 Berry Brothers
Braes of Glenlivet was established by Chivas Brothers in 1973, but in 1994 it changed its name to Braeval to avoid confusion with Glenlivet. This whisky from Berry Brothers and Rudd might be one of the last casks produced under the distillery's old name. Matured in first-fill Bourbon barrel for 24 years. Bottled un-chillfiltered and without colouring at 53.1%.
Staff Tasting Notes
Nose: Plum sauce and roast duck, subtle mushroom anddoughy/bready notesbefore coconuts, custard cream biscuits and sherbert
Palate: Waxy, fruit salad chewits, mangoes, lychee and passionfruit. Minty note after a while and then reminiscent of a cherry saison
Finish: Juicy, long confectionary notes such as marshmallows.
Comments : This is very well balanced and complex with a lip-smacking mouth coating texture.
