Borders Single Grain

R&B distiller's are currently setting up their new distillery on the Isle of Raasay which will be up and running in 2017. In the future they plan to build a grain distillery in the Scottish Borders (with Peebles being the site chosen by the public) and this independent bottling from them represents what they hope to be making once it gets going. It is bottled at natural cask strength and finished in Olorosso sherry casks.
Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Prominent sherry notes on the nose, hints of sugar-coated nuts.

Palate: Surprisingly dry on the palate with the sherry influences dominating. Walnuts balanced with vanilla, herbaceous and floral notes coming through towards the end, and just a touch of warm spice.

Finish: Lingering, dry and complex.
