Staff Tasting Notes
A beautifully breathy and warm wood tinged start followed by sugared almonds, egg-custard tarts, cigarette ash and chocolate shavings. Gentle floral perfume with a deep menthol nature comes through as well. With time it develops with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream. With water there are more dry stone and earthy aromas combined with a rich and rough apple and lemon.
Strong without water but still manageable. Vanilla, toasted wood and bonfire notes coming through a bit of strawberry chew sweetie at the end and the gentle smoke continues to come through. Water doesn’t seem to soften this whisky at all; it stays punchy and woody.
