Aberlour Casg Annamh

Although we're not too sure how it's pronounced, we do know that Aberlour's 'Casg Annamh' release means 'Rare Cask' in Gaelic. This 48% ABV whisky has been matured in three styles of cask; European Oak Sherry casks, American Oak ex-sherry casks and American Oak ex-bourbon casks. These different barrels have all added in a great depth of flavour to this young, fresh whisky. It's got big boots to fill following on from the much loved A'Bunadh but we're sure it's up the the task.
Staff Tasting Notes

Nose: Gummy bears, winegums and sultanas. Custard tart.

Palate: An prominent character of baked shortbread at first followed by toffee notes and some liquorice. Water revealed softer creamier sherry notes.

Finish: Milk chocolate and raisins. Slight walnuts and pecan characters.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich and sweet with fruity notes of tangy orange, glazed cherries, raisins and a hint of ginger.

Palate: Sweet and fruity flavours of apple and cinnamon crumble and ripe peaches balanced with spicy notes of liquorice and cloves.

Finish: Long and rich. Fruity with a touch of dry spice.
